The inside of the folder is the first thing a recipient sees when they open it, so it is a high-visibility location that is worth using if you have content that fits there. Presentation folders are printed on heavy cover stock - typically 100lb Cover, 14pt Cover, or 16pt Cover depending on the product and configuration. Heavier stocks hold their shape better under regular handling, resist wear on pocket edges, and feel more substantial in the hand than lighter stocks. The exterior is laminated after printing for additional protection and finish quality. A folder printed on heavy stock with a laminate finish will hold up through dozens of meetings, travel in a briefcase without showing damage, and still look professional when it finally reaches the decision-maker who matters most.
Yes. Business card slits are available on most pocket configurations. The standard slit holds one standard 3.5x2 business card. Some dual pocket configurations include slits on both sides, allowing you to hold a card on each pocket. If you want business card slits included, specify this when placing your order and make sure your artwork includes the slit location in the correct position relative to the pocket. Cards that are cut slightly oversize or on non-standard stock may not fit properly in die-cut slits, so standard business card dimensions are recommended for folders with card slits.
Presentation folders come in single pocket and dual pocket configurations. A single pocket folder has one interior pocket - typically on the right side - and is the most common configuration for folders that hold a moderate number of inserts in a single organized stack. The preferred file format for presentation folder artwork is a print-ready PDF with all fonts embedded, images at 300 DPI or higher, and color mode set to CMYK. Your artwork should include a 0.125-inch bleed on all edges that extend to the trim. The die-cut template for each folder style is available from Copies America before you begin design - this template shows the exact fold lines, pocket positions, and bleed boundaries so your artwork is positioned correctly. Submitting artwork built on the correct template prevents issues with design elements that cross fold lines unexpectedly or content that falls too close to a pocket edge.
