Quick Brochures are produced on digital presses optimized for short runs and fast turnaround - the right choice when you need 50 to a few hundred pieces quickly. They offer the widest range of paper stock options (from standard bond through 16pt cover stock) and the most fold style choices (half fold, tri fold, accordion, Z fold, French fold, or no fold) of any single product. Half-Fold, Tri-Fold, and Specialty Folds are better suited for larger quantity runs where offset printing economics apply and a specific fold style is required. The tri-fold brochure is the most widely used format in business-to-consumer and business-to-business marketing. Its six-panel layout - three on each side - provides a natural flow from cover to introduction to offer to call to action, and its finished size fits a standard #10 envelope without trimming. It is the default choice for service guides, sales handouts, trade show kits, and direct mail campaigns across nearly every industry. The half-fold is the preferred choice when the design requires larger panels - for bold imagery, longer text blocks, or a more open editorial feel.
For most business marketing brochures, 100# gloss text is the standard recommendation - it produces vivid full-color printing, folds cleanly, and feels substantial in hand. For higher-value presentations, 100# gloss cover or 12pt cover stock adds noticeable weight and a more premium feel. Uncoated stocks (80# or 100# uncoated text or cover) are the right choice when your design calls for a natural, tactile feel, or when recipients will need to write on the piece. For high-volume, cost-sensitive distributions, 80# gloss text or 60# uncoated offset keeps per-piece cost low while still producing professional results.
Set up your file as a flat, single-spread document at the full unfolded sheet size. For a tri-fold 8.5" x 11" brochure, your flat file should be 8.5" x 11" with three equal panels of approximately 3.67" each. Add 0.125" bleed on all four outer edges and keep all text and logos at least 0.125" from trim edges and 0.1875" from fold lines. Submit a print-ready PDF at 300 DPI in CMYK with all fonts outlined. Our team can also review files you have already created and flag any production issues - incorrect color mode, missing bleed, low-resolution images - before production begins, at no charge.
