Digital printing is the production process that makes professional print quality accessible on short runs, fast timelines, and variable data applications. Where offset printing requires plates and makeready time that only becomes cost-effective at volume, digital printing moves directly from approved file to press - no plates, no setup waste, no minimum run size that forces you to order more than you need. The result is high-quality full-color printing available from a single copy to several thousand pieces, delivered on a turnaround that matches the pace of modern marketing.
Copies America runs digital printing on production-grade equipment from our Plainview, New York facility. We print business cards, postcards, brochures, flyers, booklets, notepads, door hangers, presentation folders, envelopes, letterheads, and more - on a full range of coated and uncoated paper stocks with aqueous coating and a variety of finishing options. Every job goes through prepress review before it goes to press, and every order ships with quality checked against the approved proof.
For businesses that need professional print materials quickly - a trade show in three days, a last-minute campaign, a client meeting tomorrow - digital printing at Copies America is the answer. And for businesses that need the same piece personalized differently for every recipient, our variable data digital printing capability handles that too.

| Business Cards | Full-color business cards on 14pt or 16pt cover stock with gloss or matte aqueous coating. Printed digitally with sharp detail and vivid color - quantities from 100 to 2,500 with fast turnaround. Standard and custom sizes available. |
| Postcards | Full-color postcards on heavy cardstock in standard and custom sizes - 4x6, 4x9, 5x7, 6x9, 6x11, and more. Ideal for direct mail campaigns, event promotions, and retail marketing. Printed, addressed, and mailed as a single service or shipped flat for self-mailing. |
| Brochures | Half-fold, tri-fold, accordion fold, and Z fold brochures on coated text and cover stocks. Digitally printed brochures are available from 50 pieces on a fast turnaround - the right choice when you need a professional folded piece without the lead time of offset production. |
| Flyers | Single-sided and double-sided flyers on coated or uncoated stock in letter, tabloid, and custom sizes. Digital printing produces sharp text and photo-quality imagery on flyers at quantities from 25 to 5,000 pieces with same-day and next-day options available. |
| Booklets | Saddle-stitched booklets from 8 to 64 pages on 60# or 80# text stock with full-color covers. Product catalogs, training manuals, event programs, and marketing guides produced digitally in quantities from 25 copies with fast turnaround. |
| Door Hangers | Full-color door hangers on 14pt cover stock with a die-cut hole - printed digitally for local marketing, delivery services, real estate, and property management. Available in standard and custom sizes with fast turnaround from 100 pieces. |
| Notepads | Custom branded notepads in 25, 50, or 100 sheet configurations on bond or offset stock. Printed digitally in full color with your logo, contact information, and design - a useful, long-lasting promotional item that keeps your brand visible at every desk. |
| Presentation Folders | Custom printed presentation folders on heavy cover stock for client proposals, sales kits, and event materials. Digitally printed folders are available in smaller quantities than offset - ideal when you need a polished client package without a large minimum order. |

| Short Runs | Digital printing has no plate or makeready costs - the setup is the same whether you print 50 pieces or 500. For quantities under 1,000, digital is almost always the more cost-effective process. There is no penalty for ordering only what you need. |
| Fast Turnaround | Digital jobs go from approved file to press immediately - no plate-making, no press makeready, no drying time between color passes. Same-day and next-day production is available on select digital products. For urgent campaigns and last-minute needs, digital is the only process that can meet tight deadlines. |
| Variable Data | Digital presses print each piece from a digital file, which means every piece can be different - different name, different address, different offer, different image. Variable data direct mail, personalized event invitations, and individual certificates all require digital printing. Offset cannot produce variable data output. |
| Proofing and Testing | Print a small quantity to proof the design, test the response, or review the finished piece before committing to a larger run. Digital makes it practical to print 50 pieces for a test mailing and then scale to 5,000 based on the results - without reprinting from scratch. |
| Frequent Updates | Products, prices, contact information, and offers change. Digital printing makes it practical to update materials with each production run instead of printing large quantities and discarding outdated inventory. Real estate agents, retailers, and service businesses with frequently changing content depend on digital for this reason. |

| Coated Text Stock | 80# and 100# gloss and matte coated text - the standard stock for flyers, brochure interiors, booklet pages, and double-sided marketing sheets. Coated text folds cleanly and produces sharp detail and vivid color on both sides. |
| Coated Cover Stock | 80# and 100# gloss and matte coated cover, 12pt and 14pt cover stock for postcards, business cards, booklet covers, presentation folder shells, and door hangers. Heavier weight, more rigid feel, and premium appearance compared to text-weight stock. |
| Uncoated Stock | Bond, offset, and uncoated text and cover stocks for letterheads, notepads, envelopes, and materials that will be written on or stamped. Digital toner adheres well to uncoated stock and produces clean, readable text and line art even on natural and cream-tone papers. |
| Aqueous Coating | Gloss or matte aqueous coating applied after printing for scuff resistance and a consistent finished surface. Standard on postcards and business cards. Optional on flyers, brochures, and other marketing materials where a protected, professional finish is required. |
| Folding and Scoring | Machine folding and scoring for brochures, self-mailers, and multi-panel pieces. All fold styles - half fold, tri fold, accordion, Z fold, and French fold - are available on digitally printed sheets. Scoring prevents cracking on heavy cover stocks. |
| Cutting and Binding | Precision guillotine cutting to finished trim size, saddle-stitched binding for booklets and catalogs, and padding for notepads. All cutting and binding is handled in house on the same production schedule as the press run. |

| Small and Mid-Size Businesses | Companies that need professional print materials without large minimum orders or long lead times. Business cards, brochures, flyers, postcards, and notepads produced on demand in the quantities that match actual marketing needs - not warehouse-filling minimum runs. |
| Real Estate Professionals | Agents and teams with a constant need for listing-specific materials - property flyers, just listed postcards, open house handouts, and farming mailers - that are updated with every new listing and need to be in hand quickly. Digital printing makes same-week turnaround the standard rather than the exception. |
| Event Planners and Venues | Event programs, invitations, signage inserts, promotional handouts, and branded materials for conferences, weddings, corporate events, and trade shows. Events have fixed dates - digital printing delivers on tight deadlines when offset timelines are not feasible. |
| Healthcare and Professional Services | Patient education materials, appointment cards, referral pads, new patient welcome packets, and practice marketing materials. Medical and professional service practices need materials that look credible and current - digital printing makes it practical to keep materials updated without large inventory commitments. |
| Nonprofits and Educational Organizations | Fundraising materials, event programs, donor acknowledgment pieces, and outreach collateral produced in modest quantities on nonprofit budgets. Digital printing delivers professional quality on short runs without the volume commitment that offset requires. |
Digital printing transfers toner or ink directly from a digital file to paper without the use of printing plates. Each impression is produced directly from the file, which means every piece can be identical or every piece can be different - making digital the only process that supports variable data output. Offset printing uses metal plates to transfer ink to paper and requires a setup process (platemaking and press makeready) that adds cost and time to every job. Offset becomes more economical than digital above roughly 1,000 pieces where the setup cost is spread across a large enough quantity. Below 1,000 pieces and for any job requiring variable data, digital is typically the right choice for both cost and turnaround.
Minimum quantities vary by product. Business cards start at 100. Postcards and flyers start at 25 to 50 pieces depending on size. Brochures start at 50 pieces. Booklets start at 25 copies. Notepads start at 1 pad. There is no single minimum across all products - the configurator on each product page shows the minimum quantity for that specific item. If you need a quantity smaller than the online minimum for a specific product, contact us and we will advise on the best option for your situation.
Digital printing turnaround depends on the product and current production volume. Many products are available with same-day or next-day production when files are submitted before the daily cutoff time. Standard turnaround is 2 to 3 business days from file approval for most digital products. Rush options are available - check the product page for available turnaround options or call us at 1-800-423-2679 to confirm availability for a specific deadline. Shipping transit time is in addition to production time. For urgent orders, we recommend selecting the fastest available production option combined with expedited shipping to ensure your in-hand date is met.
Submit a print-ready PDF at 300 DPI minimum resolution with 0.125" bleed on all four sides beyond the finished trim size. Set your file in CMYK color mode - RGB files are converted during prepress which can cause color shifts, particularly in dark and saturated tones. Outline all fonts before saving the PDF to prevent font substitution. Flatten all layers and transparency. For double-sided jobs, include both sides in the same PDF file with front and back on separate pages. If you are unsure about any aspect of file setup, our prepress team will review your file before production begins and flag any issues that need to be corrected.
Yes. A PDF soft proof showing your file at the finished trim size with crop marks is available for any digital print job. Soft proofs are the fastest proofing option and are sufficient for most jobs - they confirm trim size, bleed, content position, and overall layout. For color-critical jobs where screen-to-print color accuracy is important, a hard copy proof printed on the production press is available for an additional charge. We recommend a proof for first-time orders, jobs with complex layouts, and any project where the design has not been printed before. Proofing adds one business day to the production schedule.
Yes. Variable data printing (VDP) is a digital printing capability that personalizes each piece in a run with unique information - name, address, offer, image, or any data field from a supplied database. Common applications include personalized direct mail postcards, individual name badges, loyalty program mailings, and event invitations with recipient-specific details. Variable data jobs require a print-ready design template and a data file (typically CSV or Excel) with the fields to be merged. Our personalization and automation service handles variable data jobs at scale - contact us with your project details and data file format and we will confirm the setup requirements and pricing.
Copies America stocks a full range of coated and uncoated papers for digital printing: 80# and 100# gloss and matte coated text, 80# and 100# coated cover, 12pt and 14pt cover stock, bond and offset uncoated text, and uncoated cover. Specialty stocks including linen, laid, and recycled content papers are available on select products. The paper stock options available for each product are listed on the product configuration page. If you require a stock that is not listed, contact us - we can source specific papers for larger quantity jobs where the volume justifies a custom stock order.
