Standard sizes include 5.5" x 8.5" (a half-sheet size good for handouts and compact distribution), 8.5" x 11" (the most common full-sheet flyer size), 8.5" x 14" (legal size, useful when you need more content space), and 11" x 17" (tabloid size, ideal when you want a larger, more eye-catching format). Uncoated stock has a natural matte feel and is the standard choice for everyday flyers - it is lightweight, easy to write on if needed, and cost-effective for high-volume distribution. Coated stock, used on our Flat Flyers & Brochures product, has a gloss or matte laminate finish that makes colors more vibrant and gives the flyer a noticeably more premium feel in hand. Coated stock costs more per piece but is worth it when the flyer itself needs to reinforce a premium brand image or when it will be displayed rather than simply handed out and discarded.
Yes. Folding options including Half Fold, Tri Fold, Accordion Fold, Z Fold, and French Fold are available on select flyer products, which effectively turns a flat flyer into a compact brochure with multiple panels for additional content. Folded flyers work well when you need more space to communicate details - a service list, an itinerary, or multiple offers - while keeping the piece compact for handing out or mailing. If you are unsure which fold suits your content, our team can advise based on how much content you need to fit and how the piece will be distributed.
Set your document to your chosen size with 0.125" bleed on all four sides if your design extends to the edge - for example 8.75" x 11.25" for an 8.5" x 11" flyer. Keep all text and logos at least 0.125" from the trim edge as a safe zone. Use CMYK color mode, not RGB, and export at a minimum resolution of 300 DPI. Submit as a print-ready PDF with all fonts outlined or embedded before saving to avoid font substitution during prepress. If your flyer will be folded, ask us for the correct fold template so your design accounts for panel placement correctly.
