In standard NCR printing, all three copies show the same pre-printed form design on a colored background - the differences between copies are the paper color (white, yellow, pink) and any text or marks written or typed on them during use. It is not standard practice to print completely different content on each color copy within a set, as the NCR paper process is a transfer mechanism rather than a multi-pass printing process for each sheet. However, selective printing on specific parts only - for example, printing certain instructional text only on the white copy using a mask - is possible in some cases.
