Both products offer the same range of paper stocks, fold styles, and color options.
The tri fold is the standard choice for a three-panel marketing brochure and the most recognized format in business-to-consumer and business-to-business marketing. The six-panel layout - three on each side - gives you a natural flow from cover to introduction to offer to call to action on the front, with supporting content, contact details, and imagery on the reverse. Tri fold brochures on 100# gloss text or 100# gloss cover stock are the most common combination ordered for sales, real estate, healthcare, and professional services marketing. For a cleaner, more modern feel, the half fold on 100# uncoated cover is an increasingly popular alternative - fewer panels, more white space, and a more premium presentation.
Yes. The No Fold option is available on all sizes and stocks. An unfolded 8.5" x 11" or 11" x 17" brochure is effectively a flat flyer - printed on premium paper stock with double-sided color and a finished look that a standard office printout cannot match. The No Fold option is a popular choice for menus, product sell sheets, event programs, and informational inserts that will be placed in folders or mailed in envelopes without folding. If you specifically want a flat piece on coated or heavy stock, the Flat Flyers and Brochures product is also worth reviewing.
For most business marketing brochures, 100# gloss text with a gloss finish is the standard recommendation - it produces vivid full-color printing, folds cleanly, and feels substantial in hand without being stiff. If your brochure will be mailed in an envelope, 80# gloss text is slightly lighter and reduces postage cost while still producing quality results. For high-value presentations - financial services, real estate, luxury retail, medical practices - step up to 100# gloss cover or 12pt cover stock for a noticeably heavier, more premium feel. Uncoated stocks (80# or 100# uncoated text or cover) are the right choice when your design calls for a natural, textured look, or when recipients will need to write on the brochure.
Set up your file as a flat, single-spread document at the full unfolded size with all panels laid out side by side. For a tri fold 8.5" x 11" brochure, the flat document is 8.5" x 11" with three equal panels of approximately 3.67" each. Add 0.125" bleed on all four outer edges of the flat spread. Keep all text and logos at least 0.125" from the outer trim edges and 0.1875" from fold lines to prevent content from being obscured in the fold. Submit a print-ready PDF at 300 DPI in CMYK with all fonts outlined. The minimum order quantity for Quick Brochures is 50 pieces. This minimum applies across all sizes, paper stocks, and fold styles.
